IPL for Acne Rosacea
Acne rosacea can be very effectively treated with IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) laser technology.
Acne Rosacea is a very common condition in the UK. It typically presents with some combination of ‘spots’ and facial redness. Often the first sign is easy flushing. As the condition progresses the redness becomes more persistent and thread veins may appear on the cheeks and nose. Rosacea can also be itchy or painful and develop spots which can become inflamed.
Rosacea tends to be aggravated by spicy food, coffee or alcohol. In addition, warm weather, physical exertion or sun exposure can make the flushing more severe for rosacea sufferers.
It is a difficult problem to treat with conventional medications, and usually when someone comes to see us they have already tried a variety of treatments to no avail.
Treatment of Rosacea with IPL Technology
Acne rosacea can be very effectively treated with IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) laser technology. Our advanced lasers offers good results with lessening of redness and flushing and improvement in red veins that occurs over a series of treatments.
Because IPL energy penetrates at different levels of the skin, it is particularly effective at treating these problems.
IPL works to reduce expanded veins and capillaries, promote healing of the skin and inflammation and stimulate cell renewal. Treatment can result in a dramatically clearer skin.
Our gold standard Lumenis M22 technology, combines IPL with ResurFX™ (fractional non-ablative skin resurfacing), Multi-Spot™ ND:YAG with Multiple Sequential Pulsing and Q-Switched Nd:YAG for treatment of pigmented lesions and veins.

Dr Quinn has a particularly interest in rosacea, since he suffers from it himself. He also wrote the thesis for his Diploma in Clinical Dermatology on the condition. This is a very common condition, but there is no real treatment on the NHS. The condition is characterised by redness and flushing in the face, which can cause embarrassment for the patients affected. The IPL laser works by shrinking the blood vessels. Treatment is short, yet effective.
Quinn Clinics is CQC registered and treatments are carried out by Dr John Quinn.
