Stretch marks tend to develop when the skin is stretched too far and/or too quickly, which causes the skin structure to be damaged.
As we get older, our skin changes. Lessening elasticity, wrinkles, and pigmentations can occur depending on our daily habits, age, and genetics.
Most of the time, these skin conditions are harmless. But some can be managed in order to care for our skin as much as possible, and keep us looking youthful for longer.
Neck lines are generally considered to be a normal sign of ageing. However, if dislike their appearance and wish to slow their development, it’s good to be informed about the treatment options.
What causes stretch marks?
Stretch marks can appear at any point, but they are more common when the skin has to expand.
That’s why they can start to appear when you are growing quickly through puberty. They are also common during pregnancy or weight gain.
Although stretch marks are natural and normal for many people, it’s OK to wish we never had stretch marks and instead want soft smooth skin.
What are the symptoms of stretch marks?
Stretch mark lines tend to appear more on your thighs, belly, shoulders and waist (love handles area).
They can feel a little rough if deep crevices appear and may cause discomfort; although the main issues tend to be cosmetic.
Fresh stretch marks tend to have a red or even bluish tone. With time, they tend to fade to white or silvery lines. However, the depression in your skin will remain even after the colour has faded.
