Dr John Quinn provided his expert advice on Glamour Magazine’s feature on injection-free skin treatments, which highlighted Quinn Clinics’ LaseMD treatment.
The feature was entitled:
“6 needle-free ways to ‘inject’ your skincare”
This article looked at how clients can get skincare ingredients into the deeper skin layers without having injections. As the article explains:
“The great hitch is that it can only be easily achieved with injections, which means that most skincare just works on the skin’s surface, limiting deeper ‘transformative’ results.”
There are now needle-free technologies in advanced skin clinics which are designed to create channels in the outer layer of skin in order to allow active ingredients to reach the layers below.
LaseMD Facial
Dubbed the ‘babyfacial’, LaseMD is described as
“…serious non-ablative fractional laser set to a specific wavelength that vaporises water molecules in the skin, creating microchannels.”
Glamour asked Quinn Clinics founder and Medical Director Dr John Quinn to give his expert views. He explained how the technology works:
“Importantly, with this technology it’s the water, not the laser beam itself, that temporarily perforates the skin. That means it happens without damaging the skin surface, causing minimal inflammation”
It is important to avoid any inflammation as that can make pigment spots worse.
John continued:
“The microchannels the laser creates go all the way down to the bottom layer of the epidermis and top layer of the dermis.”
The creation of these microchannels allows the serums to penetrate deeply. Once beneath the skin’s surface, the serums pool until the moisture and active ingredients have been fully absorbed.
LaseMD can be combined with hydrating and brightening ‘nano’ serums that are packed with active ingredients to boost the condition and appearance of the skin.
