What is Ultherapy? Video Explanation & Demo

Dr John Quinn’s video explanation of Ultherapy treatment has quickly become one of our most popular YouTube videos with thousands of views from people wanting to know more about the treatment.

Ultherapy ultrasound treatment is a non-invasive, non-surgical cosmetic procedure. It uses no needles and is pain-free, yet can deliver remarkable results.

Dr John Quinn summarises the system:

“It’s based on a technology called micro focused ultrasound sometimes called HIFU – High Intensity Focused Ultrasound.

How does Ultherapy work?

John explains:

“So what this does is it is induces collagen production within your skin…

“It’s used to lift and to tighten.”

The advanced ultrasound treatment stimulates the body’s natural healing and cell repair processes. Focused ultrasound waves can target the structural layers of skin to boost the production of collagen within the skin, resulting in a toning, tightening and lifting effect which rejuvenates the facial features.

Where can Ultherapy be used?

John says:

“We use this primarily for the lower face, for the submental area under your chin and occasionally we’ll also use it to lift the brows and to improve the skin quality in the neck.”

He continues:

“I frequently use this device to treat the skin of the neck as well.”

How effective is it?

John explains:

“The reason why I invested in this device as opposed to another device is down to the the proof of efficacy.

“The company that make Ultherapy they are the company that have published pretty much all of the of the articles that show this is a safe treatment and this is an effective treatment.

How accurate is it?

Ultherapy is very precise as the technology incorporates an ultrasound scanner:

“It’s the only device that I’m aware of that actually has an ultrasound scanner; so I can visualise specifically the area that I’m treating and that’s really important because every person is different and therefore it allows me to tailor my treatments to what my patient actually requires. So what we’re doing is mapping the face out into zones that we’re going to treat with the Ultherapy device.”
