Electrolysis is the removal of hair from the face and body by the direct application of heat using a sterile needle.

During consultation we will discuss how electrolysis works, decide if you are a suitable candidate and will decide on a treatment plan for you to achieve your ideal results.

Electrolysis is the only proven permanent hair removal method which can be used on any hair type/colour (including white hair) and is suitable for all skin types.

Each hair still needs to be caught in the correct stage of the hair growth cycle which is why multiple treatment are needed.

Popular Areas Treated

Since electrolysis treats a hair at a time, it is best suited to smaller areas.

  • Nipples
  • Lip
  • Chin
  • Snail Trail (belly button down)

Other Areas

For larger areas of the body, we recommend laser hair removal, which treats a whole area as it scans and is therefore faster and more efficient on bigger areas.

With the latest technology, we can even help clients who thought their hair or skin type was unsuitable for this treatment.

Will it work for me?

Almost certainly yes – the great thing about electrolysis is that it is effective for all skin and hair types and colours.

It can be used on the body or face, even sensitive areas, and is generally suitable even for those with skin conditions that would make laser or IPL inappropriate.

Please contact our team to check and we’ll be happy to advise.

How does it work?

It’s a simple but effective process:

  1. A fine, sterile needle/probe is inserted directly into the natural opening of the hair follicle
  2. A small electric current is transmitted
  3. This destroys the bits which cause hair to grow and regenerate – the dermal papilla, the matrix, and an area called “the bulge”
  4. The hair cannot regrow
How do I know it will work?

Electrolysis is the only method approved by the FDA for permanent removal of unwanted hair. IPL and laser do not have the same clearance.

Think of it as hair elimination rather than removal. The hair literally cannot regrow in the future.

Are there any side effects?

You can expect some temporary redness or sensitivity after the treatment. This does vary for each person.

Does it hurt?

The experience is quite subjective and varies by individual, depending on their personal reaction as well as the area being treated.

Certainly the latest technology has made electrolysis more comfortable than ever before. There is a short sharp sensation, but this passes very quickly.

Is it safe?

Electrolysis is very safe. It has been used for over 130 years. It has FDA approval as a safe method for permanent hair removal.
