Dermal Filler Anti-Ageing Injections
Dermal fillers, also known as facial fillers, are medical gel-based injections used to smooth deep lines and plump the skin, resulting in a softer and more youthful appearance.
A combination of genetics, ageing and external aggressors can cause the face to lose volume and shape. Dermal fillers can revitalise and rejuvenate your appearance, treating hollowing, sagging, loss of structure, definition, fine lines and wrinkles. They are also highly effective at enhancing definition and lip volume.
The new generation of deep and long-lasting fillers, such as Juvederm® VOLUMA®, allow larger areas such as cheekbones, jaw, chin, or facial hollows to be filled and contoured, with long-lasting results.

Dermal Fillers Review
“I keep coming back to see John because he’s the best… Many people come here through my recommendations because he’s very trustworthy. I think many people are concerned that they’re going to look plastic, that they’re going to look false, but John concentrates on a very natural look to enhance what you’ve got… he’ll always make sure that you look beautiful.”
TYPES OF DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT
Our Doctors use several types of Dermal Fillers at Quinn Clinics, depending on the area we are treating.
We are proud to be selected as one of the first in the UK to offer the latest Vycross technology Juvéderm fillers from Allergan. These anti-ageing injectable products are based on hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin, which can absorb and retain more than 1,000 times its weight in water. All products in the Juvéderm® range contain 0.3% lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, which makes treatment incredibly comfortable.
JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA®
BEST FOR:
Used to restore facial volume (due to ageing or weight loss) and profile shaping by enhancing cheekbones, chin or jawline. It adds volume beneath the skin’s surface, providing lift and contour to larger face areas.
RESULTS:
Natural and long-lasting results that can last up to 2 years.
JUVÉDERM® ULTRA
BEST FOR:
Used to treat fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, under the eyes in the tear troughs, and for lip augmentation. An advanced dermal filler with a smooth consistency that is excellent for restoring volume and hydration to aid skin elasticity and support.
RESULTS:
Results can last up to one year.
JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA
BEST FOR:
An injectable gel that creates soft, natural, long-lasting lip enhancement, correcting smokers and ageing lip lines and “marionette” lines down to the chin. It has a greater capacity to ‘lift’ than other products. It is also effective in injection into undereye hollows.
RESULTS:
The specialist Vycross technology results in less swelling and downtime. Clinical studies have demonstrated effectiveness for up to 12 months.
BELOTERO VOLUME
BEST FOR:
Boletero Volume is a hyaluronic acid, a volumising dermal filler that completely integrates into the skin tissue. A flexible gel that fills moderate-to-severe etched-in lines and wrinkles, such as vertical lip lines above and around the lips. It allows for normal movement and facial expressions, and injected areas feel natural to the touch.
RESULTS:
Individual results may vary depending on the injected area but may last six months or more.

Dermal Fillers Frequently Asked Questions

What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are medical gel-based solutions that are used to plump up and fill wrinkles and lips and also to restore facial volume.
The original dermal filler was animal based collagen. However, most commercially used fillers currently used and all used at Quinn Clinics are non animal based.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar present in human skin. It is extremely hydrophilic. This means that it attracts and holds water. It is in this way that the product leads to a plumping effect in the treated areas. Commonly used dermal fillers include Restylane®, Juvederm Ultra® and Teosyal.
What are they used for?
Increasingly dermal fillers are being used as an alternative to surgical procedures such as a facelift. Fillers can be used to restore facial volume and a more youthful, rounded appearance. Quinn Clinics have extensive experience in the use of dermal fillers for facial revolumisation.
Dr Quinn has previously been chosen by Allergan as a national trainer for their Voluma product and works closely with top manufacturers on the latest developments.
What are the possible side effects?
Rare side effects related to dermal fillers include allergy, granulomas and very rarely damage to blood vessels leading to tissue damage.
How long do dermal fillers last?
Juvederm Voluma results can last up to 18 months.

What about BOTOX®?
BOTOX® is an injectable treatment which works by stopping muscle movement, so that the skin can relax and lines are erased. BOTOX® works on dynamic muscles, while fillers are used to tackle deep lines by adding volume.
The two treatments may be combined for a non-surgical face-lift.
