Miss Rebecca Ford is a nationally and internationally renowned oculoplastic surgeon in Bristol, UK. She has over 15 years of experience in all aspects of eyelid, lacrimal and orbital surgery.

Background
Rebecca is a nationally and internationally renowned oculoplastic surgeon based in Bristol, UK. She has more than 15 years experience specialising in all aspects of eyelid, lacrimal and orbital surgery. She received an NHS National Clinical Impact Award in 2023.
She graduated from Oxford in 1997 and trained in ophthalmology and oculoplastics in London, Brighton, and Birmingham, becoming a consultant in 2011.
She looks after patients with all types of oculoplastic concerns, including eyelid, orbital, lacrimal disorders, and aesthetic eyelid surgery. She has performed thousands of oculoplastic surgeries over the years.
She was the oculoplastics service lead at Bristol Eye Hospital for 10 years and also served as clinical director for 2 years. she provides a regional orbital service there for complex cases.
Special clinical interests
Rebecca has a special interest in medical education and trains fellows from around the world in her NHS practice. She is Head of the Severn School of Ophthalmology. She has been Chair of Education for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists from 2021-2025 and holds a Masters of Surgical Education from Imperial College London.
She is also active in clinical research, with research interests in best practices in eyelid surgery, management of thyroid eye disease, and orbital approaches to skull base and intracranial tumours.
Aligned with her work supporting patients with thyroid eye disease, she is chair of the charity Thyroid Eye Disease Charitable Trust.

- 2009-2011: Rebecca’s subspecialty training fellowship years were in Brighton and Birmingham. This provided an excellent grounding in the eyelid, lacrimal and orbital surgery with high volume surgical experience.
