Small group fitness classes are focused training sessions for a group of up to 8 people.
They’re led by our qualified and experienced Personal Trainers, but provide a more economical alternative to one-to-one sessions. Yet in a small group, there’s still plenty of scope for personal attention and support to ensure you get the most out of each and every session.
Small group fitness sessions use a variety of exercises and techniques to help you build up good all round strength and fitness. The activities are thoughtfully planned so that each class member can work at their own level with no embarrassment or competition element.
Exercises could include a combination of:
- Bodyweight exercises – these use no weights or machinery. They could be performed standing up or on a mat. They may involve equipment such as resistance bands or gym balls, but no weights or machines
- Free weight exercises – incorporating hand held weights (i.e. dumbbells, barbells or kettlebells) to give a bit more resistance
- Machine based exercises – using the high quality equipment in our fitness studio
Is it for me?
Small group fitness classes enable each individual to work at their own level. So if you’ve no experience at all don’t worry, we’ll demonstrate each exercise and ensure you have the right technique to carry it out safely and effectively. Many of our clients are new to the idea of exercise or haven’t been active for years. We provide as much help and support as you need.
However, if you’ve already built up a level of fitness, our small group classes can still provide a challenge and take you to the next level. You’re bound to come across some new exercises to stretch you and develop your strength and fitness.
