Why we DON’T offer chemical peels at our Bristol clinics
Quinn Clinics no longer offer chemical peels at either of our Bristol-based locations as advanced skin treatment technology and facials offer better results with less risk and downtime.
Chemical peels are a skin treatment that is intended to provide intensive exfoliation through application of an acid-based formulation. They come in a variety of strengths and can also be made more intensive by leaving the chemical on for longer.
While peels can be effective, they do have some disadvantages. The middle to strong peels can involve quite dramatic redness and peeling, so clients tend to take time off to recover indoors. There is also a risk of burns and adverse reactions which can be very unpleasant.
The advent of new skin treatment technology and facials provide a series of advantages over skin peels.
1/ Better results
There are now a host of advanced skin treatments that can offer excellent results in improving the condition of the skin. The latest technology is incredibly sophisticated and can be programmed to precise exposure and even coverage.
Mild peels are no rival for the results that can be achieved with medical-grade facials. Quinn Clinics offers a range of choices that can achieve remarkable results in just one session and even better results over a course of treatment.
For example, HydraFacial® starts with intense cleaning and exfoliation using advanced, patented vortex technology. It also delivers nutrients and intensive hydration to the skin. There is no downtime at all, making it ideal to boost the skin prior to an event; hence the nickname of ‘Red Carpet Facial’. Other options include
For more intensive results, the advanced skin treatment technology offers results that are comparable to deep/strong peels with considerably less risk and downtime.
For example, Morpheus8 combines Micro-needling AND Radiofrequency energy for optimum regeneration results that stimulate cell renewal deep within the skin. Other options include:
There are risks associated with using acid on the skin and there has been media coverage of cases where the treatment has gone wrong. Using the wrong strength, leaving it on too long or inefficient removal of the chemical agent can cause the skin to become inflamed and even in the worst cases can cause burns.
By comparison, high tech facials and advanced technology skin treatments are much easier to regulate. Some achieve greater results than a chemical peel with no downtime at all. Even the more intensive treatments tend to be much better tolerated than deep peels.
3/ Versatile
The sheer range of high tech facials and treatments available at Quinn Clinics means that the company can offer options to work at every level, from a quick refresher to in-depth treatment with significant results.
Quinn Clinics has invested in the latest equipment in order to provide excellent treatments for its clients that are both safe and effective.
