Ultherapy or Profhilo to Fix ‘Zoom Frown’

As Seen in The Evening Standard

Evening StandardAfter months of scrutinising yourself on video conference calls, you’re not alone if you’ve found yourself considering a treatment.

Even though clinics have been closed since Christmas, google trends show a significant increase in searches for ‘mini face lift’ as Brits investigate the options.

The Evening Standard published a piece assessing the options, entitled:

‘Face up – how to fix Zoom frown’

The article published in the Evening Standard on 4th March invited anti-ageing experts to suggest treatments.

Ultherapy Ultrasound Treatment

Dr John Quinn proposed Ultherapy treatment. This high-tech system uses ultrasound waves to stimulate natural cell repair and collagen production. He told the Evening Standard:

“The focused ultrasound waves can target the structural layers of skin to boost the production of collagen within the skin, resulting in a toning, tightening and lifting effect which rejuvenates the facial features.”

The Evening Standard commented:

“With not much more than a slight heat sensation, Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound waves to stimulate natural cell repair.”

The article summarised:

  • Best for toning and tightening the skin
  • Cost around £2,000
  • Downtime less than a day
  • Results 2-3 months after treatment with further improvements for up to 6 months

Ultherapy ultrasound treatment is available at Quinn Clinics based in Redland, Bristol.

Profhilo Injections

Another option suggested in the article was Profhilo, an advanced injectable treatment which is also available at Quinn Clinics. The Evening Standard said:

“Sometimes known as the ‘injectable moisturiser’, the Profhilo procedure consists of two sessions of many small injections of hyper-pure synthetic hyaluronic acid, a substance produced naturally by the body.

“Unlike ‘fillers’, these micro injections are aimed at creating a hydrated, plumped look rather than restructuring the shape of the face.”

In summary:

  • Best for plumping and an overall glow
  • Cost around £600
  • Downtime up to two days of slight swelling and mosquito-like bumps where injected
  • Results visible when swelling decreases

Profhilo injections are available at Quinn Clinics based in Redland, Bristol.
