Cryolipolysis is a very popular method of treating excess fat.

How long does treatment take?

Treatment is relatively quick, as Nurse Rachael Graham tells our patient:

“Each area is going to take 35 minutes to freeze the fat cells underneath”

What does it feel like?

As the video shows, non-surgical fat freezing is a short and simple procedure which can be done in a clinic visit. Unlike surgical liposuction, there is no need for anaesthetic and recovery is quick and straightforward.

Patient Sam describes the sensation:

“So my applicator’s just gone on. It’s quite heavy, but it’s starting to get really cold now and the suction it’s quite strong I’d say, but not too uncomfortable”

What is the massage for?

Immediately after the treatment, the treated area is massaged to help the body to expel the fat. Sam continues:

“So I’m just having my second applicator put on. When the first one comes off there’s an element of massage that needs to be done, which I’d say is the most uncomfortable part of the process so far.

“Really tender, it’s quite hot bizarrely, even though it’s only cold to the touch, but for about 5 minutes after”

So the hot/cold sensations pass relatively quickly.

CoolSculpting works by cooling the area while lifting the flesh with suction to provide intense and focused application of the cold. The extreme cold works to destroy and break down excess fat cells, which are then expelled by the body’s metabolic processes.
