Our latest video shares client Paul’s experience of having CoolSculpting body shaping treatment at Quinn Clinics. 

CoolSculpting uses cold in order to get rid of excess fat cells and produce a smoother, leaner contour. It is a popular choice for those who are struggling with specific pockets of excess fat.

Nurse Rachael Graham explains:

“…you’re gonna get this really nice result of losing the fat cells in this area and just creating an overall flatter shape.

“What you might feel while this is going on in is tingling, stinging and intense cold which should subside within eight to ten minutes.”

During the procedure, Paul tells the camera how it feels:

“So it’s on there and the sensation that I’m feeling is just; it’s not it’s not particularly uncomfortable it’s just a cold but the cold is like kind of changing to like
almost like a warm feeling which is a bit weird but I suppose that’s normal. But it’s totally bearable and if I can do it anybody can.”

After the treatment, Rachael massages the areas in order to stimulate the body’s metabolic processes that expel the fat. Paul describes the sensation:

“It’s weird that’s the only way I can describe it, it’s strange, I can’t quite explain how it feels because it sometimes it doesn’t feel like it’s actually like your skin that they’re moving about and then then it does. It is really really strange.”

After treatment, he concludes:

“So that was nowhere near as painful as I thought it was going to be.

“It’s really strange because it was so cold like this was done what three hours ago, 3-4 hours ago and it’s still cold to touch now. It just kind of feels like you can feel it internally but not externally it’s really weird but yeah, feels OK.”

Results take a few weeks to develop as the body expels excess fat gradually. Patients may see some early results in the first few days, but the process of eliminating fat cells takes a few weeks. Full and final results are seen about 12 weeks after treatment.

The flesh is drawn up into a vacuum cup to provide intense and focused application of the cold. This works to destroy fat cells, which are then expelled by the body’s metabolic processes.
