Video: Skin Treatments in the 30s

youtube logoIn our latest YouTube video, Dr John Quinn looks at common skin complaints and potential treatments for those in their 30’s.

Skin Issues in the 30s

Unfortunately this is when the first signs of ageing tend to appear – fine lines, wrinkles and loss of plumpness are common for skin in the 30s.

However, treatments are available which are safe and highly effective at smoothing and improving the skin.

Dr John Quinn Explains Skin in the 30s

Upper Face – Fine Lines and Wrinkles

In the upper part of the face, fine lines are usually related to facial expressions and can be effectively treated with Botox anti-wrinkle injections. These work to relax the muscles causing fine movements and this enables a pleasing softening of the wrinkles in the overlying skin.

The treatment is good for issues such as horizontal lines, frown lines and crow’s feet.

Mid and Lower Face – Loss of Plumpness

Loss of plumpness can make nasolabial folds (nose to mouth) or marionette folds (the lines going downwards from the edge of the mouth) appear. These are creases in the lower face.

Patients can also experience loss of volume in the cheeks, particularly if they lose a lot of weight.

These conditions can be treated using dermal fillers. Quinn Clinics use hyaluronic acid based products which give a soft, pleasing and natural look. Results last 6-12 months or in some cases up to 18 months.

Sun Damage

In the 30s, the first signs of sun damage often appear. Sun spots, or thread veins. Quinn Clinics use a number of safe and effective lasers to remove these minor skin blemishes.

Skincare and Skin Conditions

Skincare is of paramount importance in the 30s and Quinn Clinics offer a full range of cosmeceutical products at both the Bristol and London clinic which Dr John Quinn can prescribe to suit each patient’s needs.

As a medical doctor, he can also prescribe appropriately for conditions such as acne vulgaris, acne rosacea or pigmentation problems.
