New Video – Popular Wrinkle Relaxing Injections

In our latest YouTube video, Dr John Quinn explains more about Quinn Clinics’ most popular treatment – anti-wrinkle injections – which are used to treat dynamic wrinkling (i.e. that related to movement).

Anti-wrinkle injections are most often used for treating the visible wrinkles and signs of ageing in the upper part of the face:

• frown lines
• horizontal forehead lines
• crows’ feet

However, there are also some potential uses in the lower face, including:

• dimpling on the chin
• downturned corners of the mouth
• ageing neck

Important Information

Treatment takes a couple of minutes and injections are almost painless. Dr Quinn describes the sensation as

“almost similar to plucking the eyebrows”.

Results last 3-4 months and there are minimal side effects (short term headache or localised swelling), which are explained in the video. These are discussed fully prior to treatment.

For those new to anti-wrinkle injections, it is important to understand that the solution used – Botox (botulinum toxin) – is a prescription only medicine. That means that it has to be prescribed by a doctor (or suitably qualified practitioner e.g. dentist, prescribing nurse). The GMC (General Medical Council) have advised that doctors should consult with patients face to face before prescribing botox. There are other potential treatments that might also be recommended such as dermal fillers, chemical peel or radiofrequency treatment to name but a few.
