Get Back in the SPF Habit

At last the snow has gone, the wind is not biting cold and the blossoms are coming out. Dare we hope that summer 2013 is on its way?

Quinn Clinics are reminding patients to get back into the habit of applying sun block daily.

We all know the advice about sun protection, yet many of us still leave it until our big holiday, or after we’ve had a couple of surprise over-exposures.

The best way to protect your skin and avoid premature signs of ageing is to wear a SPF30+ sun block every day. Even in winter, even when it’s cloudy.

If you have got out of the habit of applying sun cream, time to get back into it.

Sun Damage

As well as premature ageing, sun damage can cause problems with pigmentation or hyperpigmentation, sun spots, dry skin, poor complexion and even melanoma. 

Where melanoma is suspected, moles should be checked as soon as possible by a medical professional.
