Survey Reveals Wrinkle-Worries Start at 29

WrinklesA Superdrug survey has revealed that the age at which women become concerned about the effects of ageing is just 29.

Their top worries are wrinkles, the most visible sign of facial ageing.

The top 5 list of ageing concerns reads as follows:

  1. Getting wrinkles
  2. Sagging face
  3. Sagging boobs
  4. Facial hair
  5. Going grey

Although ageing is to some extent inevitable, the good news is that the signs of facial ageing can be kept at bay through good skincare.

A spokesperson for Superdrug told the Daily Mail:

“It is incredible to think that those who are still in the prime of their life at 29 are already worrying about the effect ageing will have on their face and body. That said, it’s really never too early to take care of your skin… A quick skincare routine started at 29 really will combat the signs of ageing and it’s got to be worth the effort.”

Dr John Quinn from Quinn Clinics in Bristol agrees.

“It is somewhat ironic that women spend their teens trying to look older and from the age of 29 onwards battle to look younger again.”

“Certainly a good skincare routine can help and should be started as early as possible. For example, good management of acne at a younger age promotes good healthy skin which tends to age better; and daily cleansing and moisturising is vital to maintaining skin health for everyone.”

“Modern aesthetic medicine offers a range of treatments that can help to reduce the signs of ageing. Chemical peels or microdermabrasion are suitable for patients in their 20s. They serve as intensive exfoliants and promote the skin’s own renewal. Similarly Dermaroller micro-needling treatment stimulates the skin’s own healing mechanisms.”
